Four students from class 2015 of Sino-British Cooperative Undergraduate Program in Finance will be funded to study at the University of Aberdeen

On the afternoon of May 13, 2016, Dr. Mark Whittington, Dean of the Business School of the University of Aberdeen, and Professor Wu Jianli, Dean of the International Business College (IBC) of South China Normal University (SCNU), jointly announced the list of students who were funded in the 2015 Sino-British cooperative undergraduate program in finance and would travel to the University of Aberdeen during the summer vacation of 2016, and awarded honorary certificates to them. In accordance with the objective of the study tour award program, two students, Feng Wenxi and Chen Jieli of the 2015 Sino-British Cooperative Education Program received full funding incentives from the University of Aberdeen. Li Yuanlin and Liu Yan would receive a study tour subsidy of 5,000 yuan per person from IBC. And the above four funded students would travel to Aberdeen University from July 31, 2016 to August 14, 2016.

The funds including the above-mentioned study tour awards were set up by co-organizers of  IBC, SCNU and the Business School of the University of Aberdeen. As a regular award given to first-year students of the Sino-British Cooperative Finance Undergraduate Program. It is planned to award top-performing students of the first-year students each year according to the proportion of 10%. While the generation of these students is determined by three evaluation indicators: a one-time comprehensive assessment of the candidates’ talent show (3-minute video concerning the students themselves should be provided); the academic achievement and moral performance of the main courses in the first grade of university. And under the given equal opportunities, half of the outstanding students selected by the Business School of the University of Aberdeen will be fully funded. The remaining students will individually get 5000 yuan from IBC. The sponsored students will travel to University of Aberdeen for 1-2 weeks during the summer vacation of their first school year.

In addition, during his visit to China, Dr Mark Whittington has also completed the course of the 2015 “Accounting Principles” that he undertook in the Sino-British Cooperative Undergraduate Program in Finance.
