On November 14, Professor Wu Jianli, Dean of the International Business College, was invited to present a paper entitled “Design and Implementation on Internationalization of Higher Education in the Context of China” at Western Michigan University in the United States. The keynote report was highly affirmed by American teachers and students.

Professor Wu Jianli pointed out in the report that with the development of economic globalization, information society and knowledge economy, the internationalization of higher education in China has played an important role in the development and contribution to the theoretical research and practical innovation of the internationalization of global higher education. Professor Wu Jianli first expounded the development background and evolution of the internationalization of higher education in China from a macro level. Then, taking the International Business College as a case study, Professor Wu discussed the influencing molecules and constituent factors of the internationalization of higher education from the perspective of the college. She also made a comprehensive research and analysis on the important measures of International Business College to run international schools in recent years from multi-dimensions. Finally, she believed that the internationalization of higher education is of great significance to China’s development in the new era, and both sides of international cooperation and the national level are facing opportunities and challenges. Only by working together at all levels can we promote the healthy and sustainable development of the internationalization of higher education in China and even around the world. American experts believed that the case of International Business College was a good example for the United States in the field of international schools on campuses that do not go abroad. Only 10% of American students study abroad, and the need for the remaining 90% of students to improve their international literacy and cross-cultural understanding is a bigger task. Therefore, international exchanges, enhancing understanding and promoting peace, require more joint efforts from everyone.

During her visit to the United States, Professor Wu Jianli and Professor Gary Miron of West Michigan University worked together on academic research in the field of higher education internationalization design, assessment and evaluation. Professor Gary Miron is a researcher at the National Education Policy Research Center of the United States, and his influence in the field of education policy research ranks among the top ten peers in the United States. He was invited to visit the International Business College in May this year, participated in the second China-Foreign Cooperative Education International Forum of SCNU, and made a comprehensive and systematic evaluation of the internationalization of the International Business College.
