On September 20th, The Vice-Chancellor of Curtin University, Nigel de Bussy, and the Dean of International Affairs, Henry Li, visited South China Normal University. Vice President, Ma Weihua; Dean of the International Business College  Wu Jianli; Dean of Economics and Management College Peng Yiyu; Vice Dean of Software College, Yu Songsen; Deputy Director of Teaching Affairs Office Zhang Changhai; Deputy Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Department Tan Weihong; Vice Dean of the International Business College, Zhuang Huixuan, etc. all participated in the meeting.

Vice President Ma extended a warm welcome to Vice-Chancellor Bussy and briefed the guests on the achievements of South China Normal University in the fields of discipline construction, scientific research and international cooperation in recent years, thanked Curtin University for its support, and hoped to deepen the cooperation between the two sides in the field of talent training in business, and expanded cooperation areas into financial engineering, business information systems, software engineering and other fields. Vice-Chancellor Bussy thanked South China Normal University for its warm welcome, then introduced Curtin University's international campus construction, the development of the leading disciplines and research institutions, agreed with SCNU to put forward a series of deepening cooperation views, hoped to make good use of the existing cooperation platform, renew the cooperation agreement, and further enhance the depth and breadth of cooperation between the two sides.

During the visit, Vice-Chancellor Bussy and Dean Henry Li also discussed with the faculty of International Business College specifically about the joint training model of financial management major with Curtin University ‘2+1.5+0.5’ training model, and Study Abroad Program ‘2+2’ training model, and the curriculum implementation of the HND Diploma program, as well as the introduction of the Curtin University ELB Academic English Bridge course. The two Curtin University guests also met with 2018 freshmen majoring in financial management, introduced them about Curtin University's learning environment and curriculum design, and answered students' questions about lessons, life, internships and employment at Curtin University.

In 2018, the International Business College's financial management major will add ‘2+1.5+0.5’ Sino-Australia joint training model. Students could study in SCNU for the first two years. At the same time, our college has been working with Curtin University to design and open modular courses. Some core specialized courses are bilingual or taught in English. Otherwise, students who meet the entry requirements for Curtin University in the third year will be examined by Curtin University about application material, and students who pass the application will go to Curtin University in the third year and first semesters of the fourth year, and then return to International Business College in the second semester of the fourth year for the remaining courses. Upon completion of related studies, students will be granted a bachelor's degrees of Curtin University and SCNU if students meet the requirements for both universities' graduation and degree grant requirements.
