The first Open Day of the International Business College of South China Normal University was held on June 13th at the International Business College Complex on the Nanhai Campus. The opening ceremony was hosted by the Vice Dean of the International Business College Zhuang Huijuan, and the Dean of the International Business College Wu Jianli delivered an opening speech.

        At the opening ceremony, Dean Wu Jianli emphasized that on the basis of the college motto of “Foster the spirit of working hard；Pursue studies with utmost rigor；Seek truth from facts to blaze new trails；And be a model of virtue for others”, the college will build a specialty with international curriculum localization and local curriculum internationalization; Excellent Chinese nationals with vision, world citizens who are familiar with the economy and culture of various countries. The college adheres to the people-oriented principle of running a school, based on the foundation of Chinese culture, pursues inheritance and innovation, realizes the internationalization of training models, internationalization of teacher and student resources, and internationalization of management teams, and strive to make the international business college a solid bridge to promote China's economy and culture and absorb the essence of the international community.

        Special lectures and on-site consultation were also set up at the event. There were some teachers introducing the training mode and professional setting of each major for students and parents, as well as the future development direction, such as He Jianing from financial management department, Mao Rongkun from French department, and Ma Zanjun from finance department. Ms Tao Liping of the Innovation Center showed students and parents the construction of the college’s teaching facilities, such as international curriculum laboratory, international comprehensive laboratory, VR laboratory, international learning practice and innovation center, etc. These facilities provide a variety of media resources and immersion learning environment for students' autonomous learning. From the perspective of students' employment and campus activities, Ms Liu Chunchan from the Student Affairs Office showed parents the achievements of the college in recent years from multiple angles. The employment rate is 100%, and the career-speciality matching rate is above 90%. In terms of academic research and postgraduate entrance examination, Professor Zuo Xiaoming of the academic committee of the college introduced the academic development prospects of the college and notes on students' postgraduate entrance examination, then made a detailed answer to the hot issues of concern to students.

        In this event, the college also invited Professor Li Shengbing, an international education expert, to give lectures on the career development of teachers in the context of internationalization for the faculty of the college. After the meeting, Professor Wu Jianli, Dean of the International Business College, awarded Professor Li Shengbing a certificate of appointment of experts from the Cross-border Education Quality Assurance Research Center.
