The Vice Principle of the University of Aberdeen Visited Our University

On May 14, Professor Richard Wells, Vice Principle of the University of Aberdeen, visited South China Normal University.

Vice President Xiao Hua, Dean of International Business College Wu Jianli, Executive Vice Dean of Graduate School Zhang Wei, Deputy Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Office Tan Weihong, and Vice Deans of International Business College Yun Qiaoyun and Chai Shaoming attended the first phase of the meeting. Vice President Xiao Hua extended a warm welcome to the University of Aberdeen and his crew. Richard Wells expressed his appreciation for the fruitful results achieved during the 11 years of cooperation between the two universities. The representatives of the University of Aberdeen believed that South China Normal University was the most important partner of the University of Aberdeen in China and the world. The two parties conducted in-depth discussions on the application issues of China-Foreign cooperative education programs at the postgraduate level and reached a preliminary consensus.

Vice President Wu Jian, Dean of International Business College Wu Jianli, Vice Deans of International Business College Yun Qiaoyun and Chai Shaoming, and Section Chief Shen Liling of International Exchange and Cooperation Office attended the second phase of the meeting. The two parties reviewed the phased achievements of the finance major of the China-foreign cooperative education program, and exchanged views on the China-foreign cooperative education postgraduate program, the construction of provincial internship bases, teacher training, and teacher development with KPMG Group.

        In the afternoon, Richard Wells and his party came to the International Business College to meet with finance majors and hold a ceremony to present awards to the students who won the title of student ambassador. Harminder Battu,Frank Hong Liu,  professors at the University of Aberdeen Business School, participated in the student meeting. Richard Wells also met with teacher representatives of finance after the student meeting. This semester, the University of Aberdeen sent 9 people, namely Karolina Kazimierczak, Harminder Battu, Yizhe Dong, Yuanyuan Zhao, Norman Hutchison, David Faulkner, Huimin Yao, Stephen Christensen, Barbara Clark, to teach in our university, setting a new height for British teachers since the launch of the Sino-British cooperation program.
