From 19:00-21:00 on the evening of November 6, 2019, the opening ceremony of the Southeast Asian Cultural Festival hosted by the Youth League Committee of the International Business College and the Southeast Asian Cultural Exhibition Contest of "Infinitely Charming Southeast Asia, Cultural Feast on Silk Road" was held at West 119, Complex Building, Nanhai Campus. Mr. Liu Bangwei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch of the International Business College, Mrs. Liu Chunchan, Director of the Student Affairs Office, Mr. Liang Gengxiong, Secretary of the Youth League Committee, Mrs. Wu Lingfang, Graduate Counselor, Mrs. Xie Yongwen, Grade 2018 Counselor and Grade 2019 Counselor Li Zhuoran attended the opening ceremony as guests. The event also invited Mr. Pan Bin, Mrs. Zhao Yu, Li Li and Dong Yingxuan to serve as judges of this cultural exhibition competition.

First of all, Mr. Liu Bangwei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch of the college, gave a speech for the opening ceremony of the Southeast Asian Cultural Festival, briefly explaining the significance of the Southeast Asian Cultural Festival. He hoped that the holding of the Southeast Asian Cultural Festival could lead the students to broaden their horizons and eye on the world. Then help students have a deeper understanding of Southeast Asian culture and at the same time provide a platform for them to improve their foreign language skills, organizational skills and psychological quality. Subsequently, Secretary Liu Bangwei and the guests jointly launched the opening ceremony of the Southeast Asian Cultural Festival.

The Southeast Asian Culture Exhibition Contest officially started, and the six groups of contestants who participated in the competition took the stage to display in different ways, explaining Southeast Asian culture from multiple aspects such as food, culture, and customs. During the competition, some contestants gave explanations with background music to enliven the atmosphere, and some contestants led the audience to learn more about Southeast Asian daily culture in the form of sitcoms and videos. The players' full preparation and wonderful display caused thunderous applause from the audience.

After the contestants finished their presentation, the judges Pan Bin and Zhao Yu commented on the performance of the contestants, gave certain suggestions for each group of contestants, and wished each contestant continuous improvement and continued demeanor.

The winning results of the Southeast Asian Cultural Exhibition Contest are: the fifth group (Xiong Yuqin, Luo Haiwen, Du Qianyi) won the first prize, the fourth group (Zhang Ying, Qiu Jieying, Liang Baoqing, Yang Jing) won the second prize, and the first group (Li Jiangsen, Mai Qi Ling, Tan Yisi) and the second group (Liu Nan, Jiang Yutong, Chen Yanlin) won the third prize.

The Southeast Asian Cultural Festival organized by the Youth League Committee of the International Business College aims to expand students’ international horizons, enrich their knowledge, and provide a valuable platform for all students to understand international culture. The opening ceremony of the Southeast Asian Cultural Festival ended successfully, and the series of Southeast Asian Cultural Festival activities officially began.
