From November 9 to 10, 2017, Chai Shaoming, Associate Professor and the Vice Dean of International Business College, was invited to participate in the 2017 International Forum on University International Development held by Southwest Jiaotong University. With the theme of “Innovation, Inclusiveness, and Sharing the International Development of the University”, more than 100 experts and scholars from Australia, the United States, Britain and China gathered on the Emei campus of Southwest Jiaotong University to discuss and exchange the mission, development and practice of university internationalization.

Associate Professor Chai Shaoming and Professor Barbara Fennell-Clark, language expert of University of Aberdeen and former Dean of Confucius Institute of Aberdeen University, jointly delivered a keynote report on “Innovation, Reform and Cooperation of University internationalization in the context of Belt and Road Initiative in the New era” at this forum. The report pointed out the challenges faced by universities in the new era, put forward new requirements for university internationalization, and took the undergraduate finance program in cooperation between the International Business College and the University of Aberdeen Business School as an example. It shared the reform and innovation carried out by the college from several aspects, such as the internationalization of talent training program, curriculum internationalization, faculty internationalization and evaluation internationalization, thus promoting the internationalization of undergraduate talent training as a whole.

During the meeting, they also had in-depth exchanges with domestic and foreign experts on the implementation and evaluation of university internationalization.
